Only three features, two short documentaries, and a few surviving fragments remain of the work of Elvira Notari, Italy’s first woman film director. Though her life remains partly shrouded in mystery – she left no letters or diaries, and only a couple photographs of her exist – today, 150 years after her birth, her legacy is coming back to light.

在2024年龙年的花市里，有一群记录者，他们全程记录了广东最负盛名的广州越秀西湖迎春花市。从9月花农下苗，到11月花商的计划安排，再到12月花市办有条不紊的部署与推进。当满含深情的记忆被一一打开的时候，一声“开锣咯”的呼号划过花街的上空。2024年2月6日，西湖迎春花市如约而至。人群中除了“老广”“新广”外，还有许多来自外地的游客、海外华侨和国际友人等。他们跟花商讨价还价，从挥春的艺术家那里领走“福”字，在非遗、文博摊前买到心仪的饰品，从花档处买走一盆盆花卉植物。桃花，大展宏图；年桔，吉祥如意；百合，百年好合；五代同堂，子孙满堂；猪笼草，猪笼出水，财源滚滚……这就是广府人的行花街，这就是岭南人特有的春节民俗。

At the 2024 Year of the Dragon flower market, a group of documentarians captured every moment of Guangzhou's most renowned Yuexiu West Lake Spring Festival Flower Market in Guangdong. From September, when flower farmers planted their seedlings, to November, when merchants made their plans, and then to December, as the market organizers methodically arranged and advanced preparations—each step was recorded with care. As heartfelt memories unfolded one by one, a call of "Kua Luo Ge!" (the gong strike) rang through the flower-laden streets. On February 6, 2024, the West Lake Spring Festival Flower Market arrived as promised. Among the crowd were not only long-time and new residents of Guangzhou, but also numerous tourists from other regions, overseas Chinese, and international friends. They haggled with vendors, collected "Fu" characters from calligraphy artists, bought cherished trinkets at intangible cultural heritage and cultural exhibition booths, and purchased potted flowers and plants from stalls. Peach blossoms symbolize great success; lucky tangerine trees bring fortune and joy; lilies represent a hundred years of harmony; five generations under one roof signify family prosperity; pitcher plants are said to bring flowing wealth... This is the traditional flower-buying street of the Cantonese people—the unique Lunar New Year custom of Lingnan culture.
