The year 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt, a milestone that lends profound significance to people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. At this significant historical juncture, the 13th Silk Road International Film Festival (SRIFF) will be held in Xi'an, Shaanxi, with Egypt specially invited as the Guest of Honor. A series of activities celebrating Egypt as the Guest of Honor will take place during the festival from September 19 to September 23, 2026. Egyptian government officials, industry representatives, and celebrity guests have been invited to attend the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony of the 13th SRIFF. Additionally, events such as the Launching Ceremony of the Egyptian Film Week and a China-Egypt roundtable discussion will be held throughout the festival. These events aim to further deepen Sino-Egyptian cooperation in film and television, facilitate talent and academic exchanges, and foster regular, in-depth communication between the two countries in these sectors.
