莫莉·苏亚，印度尼西亚导演、编剧，出生于雅加达，是印度尼西亚备受赞誉的导演之一。

她的长片首作《小说》（2008）便为她赢得印尼电影最高荣誉Citra奖最佳导演，她也由此成为该奖自1955年设立以来首位摘得最佳导演的女性。此后十余年间，她在本土与国际影坛频频获奖，作品先后亮相圣丹斯、多伦多、鹿特丹等世界重要电影节。

她的第二部长片《当他们谈论爱情时他们不会谈论什么》（2013）入围圣丹斯电影节世界电影单元剧情片竞赛，成为首部跻身该单元的印尼电影。《玛琳娜的杀戮四段式》（2017）在第70届戛纳电影节导演双周单元首映，并代表印尼选送第91届奥斯卡最佳外语片。2023年，她与中国导演顾晓刚一同摘得第36届东京国际电影节黑泽明奖。近两年，她的足迹越出东南亚，《触发警报》（2024）是她执导的首部北美电影；自编自导的影片《城市如战场》（2025），作为第54届鹿特丹国际电影节的闭幕片世界首映。

Profile:
Mouly Surya is an Indonesian director and screenwriter. Born in Jakarta, she is considered one of Indonesia’s most acclaimed directors.

Her feature debut, Fiksi. (2008), earned her the Citra Award for Best Director—the highest honor in Indonesian cinema. With this achievement, she became the first woman to win Best Director since the award’s inception in 1955. Over the following decade, she has consistently garnered awards both domestically and internationally, with her works featured at prestigious global film festivals such as Sundance, Toronto, and Rotterdam.

Her second feature, What They Don’t Talk About When They Talk About Love (2013), was selected for the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival, marking the first Indonesian film to enter this category. Her third film, Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts (2017), premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 70th Cannes Film Festival and was Indonesia’s submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.
In 2023, Surya received the Kurosawa Akira Award from the Tokyo International Film Festival, along with Chinese director Gu Xiaogang. In the past two years, her career has expanded beyond Southeast Asia: Trigger Warning (2024) marked her directorial debut in North America. The latest film Surya wrote and directed, Perang Kota (This City Is a Battlefield) (2025), premiered as the closing film of the 54th International Film Festival Rotterdam.
